MTV’s Jersey Shore..is a situation.

This show is IQ dropping. When I first saw the commercials for this show, I had no intentions on watching it. I thought it was tacky. Then I started to hear about it everywhere!! So I was inclined to see what it is about…it sure is tacky but it is so damn entertaining! This reality at its best. I am hooked now!

Unlike many reality shows we see on t.v, Jersey Shore doesn’t put on a show for the cameras, they don’t try to be anything they aren’t…they just are who they are and I love that. Being from New York, I see personalities like theirs every where! So it just reminded me of people I’ve known in High School and now in college. By the way, these are not real Italians! I am not Italian myself, but I know that it isn’t how they are and I do believe that is is a false representation of the culture. Of course every culture has their “thing”, Latins have the female curves, Asians have the brains, Irish have the drinks and Lebanese have their beautiful/plastic women and Italians have the food…and for some, excessive hair gel but cultures should not be made fun and made into a gimmick.

And I have to add, I cannot stand the way these people dress! Lets star with the boys: tight shirts trying to showcase your muscles isn’t cute, Ed Hardy shirts are so tacky and ugly and ripped jeans on guys just isn’t right! Now the girls: Snookie, I understand your tiny but that doesn’t mean your clothes have to be just as tiny! Sammi, the short dresses and shorts that only covers your ass and the tight spaghetti tank tops that show your love handles is not cute! J.Wow, wow is right! Where do you buy your clothes?! The hooker store? The belly and breast baring tops are hideous! The hookers used to dress like this in the early 2000’s, at least get up to date with your tacky wardrobe!

Snookie: Oh Snickers! I love this girl. I think she has so much personality wrapped up in a 4’9 inch body with a poof hanging on top of her head while doing the fist pump. She is a sweet girl and you can tell she is the type of friend that will always be there for you, she can prove that by taking two punches, in which are all The Situation’s fault – one by a male and another by a female hippo. She is in her own world and it is fun to watch her.

The show is filled with unforgettable one liners my favorite is “She looks like a chiwawa spray painted in black” as Mike ‘The Situation’ described Snookie upon meeting her.

Pauly D: I actually like him. He has become a favorite of mine. I don’t like his hair but just like Snooki’s poof, his spikes make him who he is. He is quiet, all he does is tan, drink and party. I think he has a cute, funny and witty personality. The way he speaks with his heavy Italian accent is cute! When Mike answered the phone to find out Ronnie got into a fight, as soon as Pauly heard him he jumped, put his sneakers on and ran 20 blocks to get to Ronnie. I loved that. It showed that he is a gentlemen and that he would be there for you no matter what. In the first episode when they were all introducing themselves, my favorite was Pauly when he was coming down the stairs with as much gel as he can carry and explaining how it takes him 25 minutes to style it and his daily routines, which consists of shower, hair, tan, party and DJing at night. “I got a tanning bed in my place. That’s how serious I am about being a Guido and living up to that lifestyle.”

Angeline: The self-proclaimed Kim Kardashian of Staten Island needs to put herself in time out and get a reality check. First of all, she isn’t even attractive and just because you have long dark hair and wear dark eye make up, it doesn’t make you a Kardashian. She kept saying how her curves are all natural and that is what makes her beautiful…um, what curves? I am glad she left, she irked me. The cast is a lot better without her, I don’t think it would have been the same if she was there. She was so annoying, cocky and blocked the boys from having fun, she is also a hypocrite. She thinks she is higher than everyone yet packs her clothes in black garbage bags. “I feel like this job is beneath me (retail). I’m a bartender. I do, like, ya know, great things.” Oh, and another one: “I am all natural. I have real boobs. I have a nice fat ass. Look at this shit, I mean, come on, I’m hot.” She is defiantly kicking herself in the ass right now for leaving and seeing how famous and rich the cast are now. I actually saw her at the mall in Staten Island recently, she was loud and tried to be seen but no one paid any mind to her, she looked pathetic.

Vinny: He is my favorite guy in the house! He reminds me so much of Italian guys I am friends with, the true Italian Mama’s boy! I like his upbringing, it is classic and lovely Italian; supportive, fun, always together and always eating amazing homemade food! He is also smart and the only one that has a good head on his shoulders. “Guys with the blowouts and the fake tans and that wear lip gloss and make-up…those aren’t guidos, those are retards.”

Ronnie: Ronnie is boring bro. He is sweet and he basically reminds me of a lot of guys with the working out and is the boyfriend type instead of a party guy chasing after girls bro. He hasn’t even said anything retarded like other ass clowns, all he says is bro.

Jenni AKA JWoW: She has no class. The way she carries herself with how she dresses and acts is disgusting. I don’t like her, but I do like that she seems like a cool person to have fun with. I hate how she dresses, as I have mentioned on top. So tacky and trashy!

Sammi: Why is it always the ugly girls that are the most confident and conceited? I couldn’t be in the same room with her. She’s annoying, childish and immature. While partying one night she hooked up with The Situtation, Ronnie and another guy…that doesn’t make you appealing, it makes you slutty. I think she loves that she hooked up with two guys in the house, I think her and Mike would have been great together. I can picture them now; mirrors everywhere, arguments would consist of who is hotter and who can get more girls/guys. “If you’re not a guido then you can get the fuck outta my face.”

Mike “The Situation”: The best for last! He calls himself and his abs “The Situation” and refers to himself in the third person making me want to rip my ears out. I don’t think he focuses on the real situation….the STD’s and slight retardation that he may have. I don’t like him but I love to watch him. I think he is smart with whole “The Situation” gimmick. It’s great marketing tool and it’s no surprise that Snookie and him are the most famous and popular. People love to laugh at them, either they are oblivious to what they see and how they portray themselves or know what they are doing and being smart about it. I don’t think he is cute at all, so I don’t see what girls see in him. I think it’s funny that he refers to himself in third person and how he uses The Situation phrase. He seems very selfish and self-absorbed, I hate when he watched Snookie get punched by a man and didn’t do anything about it…he isn’t a real man, he is a toy that likes to play with himself. “I mean this situation is gonna be indescribable, you can’t even describe the situation that you’re about to get into the situation.”, “With me and Sam, it’s not a matter of if she wants to hook up with me; it’s a matter of just when I decide.”, “The kid’s harmless. Vinny knows that I’m pretty much the man of the house and not to push it too far or I’m gonna throw him in my trunk.”

It would be interesting to see them come back for another season this summer. Their lives have changed, they are famous now and getting paid a lot of money to party and make appearances worldwide. They have also gotten closer since they travel everywhere together now. The celebrities love them, all our friends love to imitate and make fun of them and the magazines are featuring them on their spreads and there are millions watching every Thursday night, and you never know maybe Italians will tune in and enjoy watching them next season.
