“I saw you screaming and no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it’s over, and it’s gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you could have the good.”
Rihanna just released the video of her new hit single “We Found Love” and it is quiet the video. It has to be one of the most artistic and best videos I have seen in a while. The video displays excellent visuals of the highs and lows of love, excluding the use of drugs of course. I love a video that captures and connects to the meaning of a song.
All the similarities between her love interest and Chris Brown and her decision to film scenes inside of a car, has fans wondering if the video will mirror her relationship with her ex-boyfriend. You can’t help but be reminded how the guy in the video looks A LOT, acting, dressing like Chris Brown. Their chemistry is very believable, he is a boxer and model and his name is Dudley O’Shaughnessy. You also can’t help but feel like the video is a bit of an insight of Rihanna and Chris past relationship. A part of me thinks that the video should have been done differently because it’s going to bring up Rihanna and Chris Brown again, every time the media leaves him alone something or someone ignites it and at this point, what is the point of ever bringing up the Rihanna/Chris sad situation? And now with a video that will have many people thinking it was an inside look of their relationship? It’s just not really necessary. But it’s also sad because you can tell that Rihanna is having trouble moving on, she is still talking about him in interviews and with a video like that it’s clear that she is still struggling with what she went through and missing him. How can you not miss someone you had a crazy relationship with? Whether it was bad or good, when a love is so strong it’s dangerous and when it’s all over, you want it all back like she said in the opening of the video. You would just rather have bad days with that person than not be without them and when you can’t be with them it takes a long time to move past it. You become so immune to the person. It’s such a difficult situation to go through.
What was also touching is in the car scene where they are arguing. It’s what they/she would have done if they had the chance to relive that fateful night. Walking away before it gets worse. I am sure there are little subtle things in the video that only Chris will know about. Aren’t you curious to know how Chris felt when he saw/sees this video?
What Rihanna said of the video:
“We’ve never done a video like this before. It’s super fun; it’s probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. Its all about love and love being like a drug, you definitely get that from this. The good feelings of it and the dangers of it….that’s what this video is about.”
Also during a recent interview, what she said about Chris:
“It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I’ve put that behind me. It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”
